Welcome to Alaska!

Phill Michael was interviewed on CTV.ca on May 14th, 2008 after accepting an Award for Bravery from the US Secretary of the Interior (Dirk Kempthorne). You can view the video by pressing the play button at the end of this blog entry.

While in Seattle, Phill and Dawa were fitted with custom molded boot liners by Intuition to keep their feet happy and warm in the most unforgiving environments.  Crystal, Vince and Taylor took the time to drive down from Vancouver to Seattle to personally take care of the fitting!

Stay tuned for more information about Intuition liners in a future blog entry!

Our team arrived in Anchorage, Alaska last night.  It took some time to get used to a sun that does not set until 12:30am!  We are fortunate to be staying with some of Alex's family who have gracefully allowed us to use their home as our base of operations for our final preparation.

Descending into Anchorage, Alaska

After landing and being collected at the airport with our ridiculous amount of luggage, we were feeling a bit ravenous and hit the local Fred Meyer supermarket for a late night feast!

Just a few bags....

Acquiring a late night feast

Once the feast was consumed, a much needed restful night was had by all.  The morning light saw us getting down to business in our final preparation for our climb!
