Crystal Horizon
There it sits...way off in the distance...Denali...'The High One'.

Midnight on Big Lake, Alaska with Denali in the distant background
Just before midnight on Friday night, we marveled at the impressive nature of North America's tallest peak ...from the comfort of our campfire chairs...while on the shores of Big Lake, Alaska.
There it still stands...Mt McKinley(aka Denali)...on a Crystal Horizon.

Speaking of a 'Crystal Horizon', I've been reading a book of the same name by Reinhold Messner. I think I've been trying to get time to 'recreationally' read since I was 'sweating it out' in Kathmandu in July 2007, but this weekend finally allowed me some time to do just that. Que bueno! If you are looking for a fascinating book to read, historically and otherwise, look no further.
I'll try and get a nice long blog entry done on Monday...one that will show you how we've been spending our 'waiting' period prior to our Secret Spot Denali Expedition. Dawa is busy experiencing all sorts of things that most North Americans with never experience...while Alex, Chris and I are also loving life...and the company of some pretty fine Alaskans.

The Tominator and the Timinator
One of the many highlights of the weekend was driving the Tominator's (brother of the Timinator) Audi S4 from Anchorage to Big Lake. It goes fast...as you can see by pressing the play button below. Thems izzzz MPH kids! =^o
It...is...all...gooood! B^)
