The Summit Window Opens!

The Summit Window Opens!
26 Jun, 08 - 11:42

The high winds at High Camp(17,200ft/5244m) subsided on Wednesday night...the clouds in the valley completely dissipated...and we are looking at the result of a classic high pressure pattern parked upon us.

Looking towards Denali Pass from High Camp

The summit window has opened! =^)

(And just in time!)

Dawa and I are chowing down on tsampa while we watch the early risers chop their way across a slope towards Denali Pass. The power of tsampa compels us! %^P

Nobody has been able to get to Denali Pass for about a week...due to wind and fresh snow.

In a short while, we'll enjoy a stomped out trail to the summit of Denali...and stand on the highest point in North America. (20320ft/6195m)

Those of you who have subscribed to my blog (http://blog.secretspoteverest.com) have virtually climbed 'The High One' with us. You've been instrumental in our success...and I thank you.

See you on the summit! B^)

Until Soon

Phill =^)
