Life and Death over the Amphu Laptse La Pass...part 2

8 Nov, 08 - 03:55

While alone on the summit of the Amphu Laptse Pass(the map says 5840m(19155ft)...but altimeters said closer to 6000m(19680ft))...I was able to snap a few images of the brilliant clear day.

Looking back towards Amputse Peak(6400m/21000ft)...and over the seracs we had just negotiated

On the descending side of the Pass, I continued to hear shouts and screams...

Looking east towards Chamlang(right...7200m/23600ft), Makalu(peaking centre...8400m/27500ft) and Sherpani Col(left...6100m/20000ft)

I hope you are virtually enjoying climbing in the Himalayas with us via the dispatches at www.secretspoteverest.com and/or my blog!?

Looking down towards our descent route from the Amphu Laptse La summit...and into our gateway to the Khumbu Valley

If you have not subscribed...you should...right now. I invite you. =^)

Until Soon
Phill =^)
