Chhukhung...
10 Nov, 08 - 11:39
Soooo...on November 5th, 2008, we put the Amphu Laptse La Pass behind us and made our way to Chhukhung(4730m/15514ft) for lunch.

Basin Camp with Tabouche(6367m/20884ft) and Cholatse(6335m/20779ft) in the distant background
There were so many people making their way up Island Peak that it was distressing. We'll save that ascent for another time...like when Alex Mondau is here...B^)

Bajee Namgel with the spectacular Ama Dablam(6856m/22488ft) in the background
Major culture shock was experienced by our wizened group...and we loped down to Dingbouche(4410m/14465ft...the same altitude as the summit of Mt. Rainier)...in search of Mungo's castle...and some peace.

Yak feding in Chhukhung
