Dingbouche...
10 Nov, 08 - 13:22
On November 5th, 2008 we also had a 'Porter Party', in Dingbouche(4410m/14465ft), for our powerful porter group.

Libations being served at the Porter Party
Chang and Roxy were poured...by the gallon...and we all reflected on our safe journey through the near 20000ft Amphu Laptse La Pass.

Mani on the way from Chhukhung to Dingbouche...with Island Peak(6189m/20300ft...centre) in the background
The next night, Namgel (the younger), baked a special Amphu Lapstse La cake...that we shared with the 20 (or so) guests at Mungo's Castle. Yum. =^P

Dana and Caroline cut the Amphu Laptse La Cake
We were to hike up to Lobouche(4900m/16072ft) on November 7th, 2008...and Gorak Shep (South Side Everest Base Camp...5364m/17594ft) the next day...so lovely sleeps were enjoyed by all...while the cake merrily digested in full tummies. =^]
I hope you are virtually enjoying climbing in the Himalayas with us via the dispatches at www.secretspoteverest.com and/or my blog!?
If you have not subscribed...you should...right now. I invite you. =^)
Until Soon
