The Trail of Blood ends here...
16 Nov, 08 - 10:11
While waiting for the plane in Lukla we visited Budi at Lukla's little Swiss built hospital.
As of Saturday afternoon:
-his platelet levels were very low
-his blood pressure was 80/60 (ya...that's low)
-he was no longer bleeding through his orifices
-he was on an intravenous drip of regular saline
-he was gobbling paracetamol and ibuprofen
...and he was apparently 'on the mend'.
Mucho good! =^)

Budi and Phill cold kickin' it at the Lukla hospital
I delivered one of my Apex Jackets to him...and a very healthy tip. He looked very pleased...but was quite weak and disheveled. He was not his usual powerful self.
The kind Nepali doctor assured me he'd be back to normal in a few days...so I left the infirmary with a full heart. =^)
We were so lucky to have connected with the helicopter for Budi in Namche on Thursday...as well as Capt. Pemba Sherpa. When Pemba stepped out of his craft and saw a dejected Budi he immediately offered help. Altruism is not dead...despite what some of you might think...=^]

Capt. Pemba Sherpa's flying contraption
Wellllll...we are back at the North Face Resort in Lukla. No flight for us today. At 3pm it looks like 6pm...due to all the dense fog. Dawa has a bit of a tooth ache...the same tooth I repaired last August...so I'm forced to administer rum this eve. =^P

Dendi, Dawa and Phill are stuck in Lukla
Fortunately, we aren't whining little ninnies(not that I know anyone like that)...so we'll make the most of being stuck here, in Lukla, for another night...=^]
I hope you are continuing to virtually enjoying trekking and climbing in the Himalayas with us via the dispatches at www.secretspoteverest.com and/or my blog!?
If you have not subscribed...you should...right now. I invite you. =^)
Until Soon
Phill =^)
