January Fever...
27 Jan, 09 - 09:45
A week after the US Presidential Inauguration...and we are hearing all sorts of good things about the new 'Obama-nation'.

It's an 'Obamanation'!
Nepal is a long way from the USA...but we can feel the positive vibes from here. =^)
Dawa and I are suffering from January Fever...otherwise known as 'metropolisitis'...or 'inflammation of the city'. %^]
Gotta get out...but Dawa's headache and fever need to go where my recent stomach ailments did...away!
Preparing and comparing gear in the massive open mall of Thamel means that we'll be ready for 2009's Denali and Kilimanjaro expeditions. Maybe YOU will look over Africa from Africa's highest point, with us(!), in December of this year!? I hope so. B^]
Dawa suits up for adventures to come

The very short winter chills of Kathmandu have been replaced by springtime conditions. Sure...it's a little foggy in the morning...but the afternoons lend themselves to lovely, traditional Nepali sun baths. Kharel is the master of ceremonies for those events and I am merely his pupil. No sun bath would be complete without enjoying the rich produce that this country sports.
Cornucopia of Goodness in the streets of Kathmandu
The roasted peanuts are particularly good...and I've got oranges planted all about my room...emanating heavenly fragrances.
The power is out 16 hours a day in Kathmandu. It's called load shedding. The current system can't handle the requirements of the growing urban population. This power shortage kind of cuts down on production...if you know what I mean. ;^]
This country needs to use more of its potentially, abundant hydro-electric resources...and less fossil fuels. It also needs to cut down on consumption and waste in its urban areas.
How much oil and gas does Nepal produce?! Zero. It imports it all...so time for change...or else...
Speaking of new forms of energy...Dana Engler and Caroline Ang have been officially added to the SecretSpot7Summits.com team page. Check 'em out!
Until Soon
