Are YOU afraid!? =^]
10 Feb, 09 - 11:00
The World is busy complaining about recession...except for the people in very remote pockets of Third World countries...who are completely insulated from the outside world. Their economy is mostly based on their individual productivity...and thus it rolls in subsistence economies.
In the West, I find that some folks are using the bad economy as an excuse to be LESS productive. It is these difficult times that we should be trying to be MORE productive...and provide for others. Is there ANY rational person who sees it another way?! I challenge you to find one.
It seems to me that we are making progress. =^]
2009 is all about Denali and Kilimanjaro. (top)Phill hauls the 110lbs
sled on the 2008 Secret Spot Denali Expedition (bottom)Mt
Kilimanjaro(19,341ft/5897m)
The Secret Spot Seven Summits team is busy rolling our titanium wheels towards all sort of good things in 2009! B^)
Denali is no longer looming in the distance...but beckoning for us to share her slopes again. As Chris mentioned in the last dispatch...we can't wait to see the folks in 'The Rage'. 'Old Anchorville' is calling...as are the beautiful breezes of 17,200ft camp on Denali. Subscribers to the Secret Spot Seven Summits blog can virtually join us as we climb...up and over Denali..and many other peaks of the world.
Why on earth wouldn't you subscribe?! MAYBE YOU ARE SCARED?! =^]
Fortunately for all of us...there is ABSOLUTELY nothing to fear. =^)
You can check out everything you need to know about Denali, the highest peak on the North American continent, at:

I urge you to do so...from the comfort of that chair you are sitting in. B^]
We are using satellite and solar/power technologies to communicate from
anywhere! (top)Phill making a call from the summit of Mera
La(6476m/21241ft) with Mt Everest in the background (bottom) Dita
Skypes using the HET Power 50 as a power source
I'm rolling around Nepal by motorcycle for the next few days. We'll be looking at structures to get some ideas for our own school building projects. You can follow along via this blog, as I do very regular updates by satellite equipment provided by the SatellitePhoneStore.com. That the sweet Lord for the HumanEdgeTech.com gear that is providing me with seamless power.! We are using the latest expedition technology...and we like it. A sumptuous and profuse Thanx(!!) goes out to all those who have helped develop these innovative products.
Dawa and I are constantly discussing and implementing plans for the school that we are going to build right in the village of his birth. In a few years, the children of his village will be looking forward to developing their community...rather than leaving it. Well...I suppose Dawa left his village and went on to do good things...but even HE yearns to return to a simpler place as he matures. We all do.
Seamless communication from a Secret Spot in Sherpa Country in July 2007
Speaking of 'leaving the village', we are gearing up for Kilimanjaro at the end of this year. We are only having 50 people join us on the roof of Africa...but there are still a few spots left. Kilimanjaro is really the only one of the Seven Summits that ANYBODY with a sound mind and body could do...and we are really pleased that some of our supporters and friends have chosen to share this once in a lifetime adventure with us. My Mom is going to be one of our climbers. How great is that?! B^)
Let us reach new heights together...
Until Soon
