Phill's Mom...Dr Gina trains for the 2009 Secret Spot Kilimanjaro Expedition
Soooo...I am pretty excited about my Mom being part of our SecretSpotAfrica(.com) Expedition. It's not that far off...but she is already training for the Snows of Kilimanjaro...in the the Snows of Edmonton. Hmmmm...I should read that book...again. It might take me back to a time when there WAS actually a great deal of snow on Africa's highest peak! Ahhhh...that Hemingway...he never heard about global warming...=^]
We're filling up our remaining spots on that Tanzania trip right now. There will only be 50 of us!
I'm very keen to spend some time at jungle venues with the chimps...as well as enjoy the view from the Roof of Africa in the company of friends and supporters.
Fueling up on scrumptious morsels at the Kathmandu Guest House
I've been fueling up on good food at the Kathmandu Guest House and cruising around (and out of) town on a skookum motorcycle(that I consider a mini-bike compared to the Time Machine). I'm uploading a video right now...and when Chris mirrors this dispatch in the Secret Spot Seven Summits blog(phillmichael.com)...you can view it...HERE!
Kruisin' through the congested streets of Kathmandu
All the roads in Kathmandu aren't as congested as in the video...and we did manage to get waaaay out of the city...so far that we had to drive back in the dark.
Look out for Water Buffalo!
For real. =^o
(top)Dawa practices at the Race Course (bottom) The KTM minibike
I've been schooling Dawa on the art of motorcycle riding...on the race course...before we let him out on the crazy streets of this crazy, exotic, Nepalese capital city!
The air outside of Kathmandu is much nicer than the air within. Dust and Diesel. The clean, clear air of Nagarkot is lovely this time of year...
The Sizzling School Projects only need two wheels. We are so efficient and environmentally friendly...it's true. =^]
Stay tuned for more...including a Valentine's weekend dispatch from Dana Engler...from the Snows of the Canadian Rockies! B^]
Until Soon
