To Trust is to Love...
18 Feb, 09 - 04:50
I was reminded on Valentine's Day that:
'To Trust is to Love'.
I published that sentiment almost five years ago here:
http://www.secretspotbaja.com/newsletters/may2004newsletter.html
...and it still rings true...as an axiom...not an opinion. =^]
Warm waves of emotion touched the shores of my soul as I re-read the musings of old friends from my beloved Sea of Cortez.
I'll be back there soon enough...and cavorting with all manner of creature...above and below the waterline. B^@

Typical scene on the Sea of Cortez
Michael Fishbach is winging his way towards that pristine body of water this week...and he still has a few spots in the boats from February 19 to 26th and from February 26th to March 5th. Please feel free to contact us at info@secretspotbaja.com ...if you think you want to escape from the madness of the 'recession' for a few moments...and join Michael while he cavorts with the friendly cetaceans.
We will hook you up. B^]
I've spent a great deal of time with many people on the Sea of Cortez...and Michael is simply the most enthusiastic pilot that could speed you towards some 'up close and personal' experiences with the whales and dolphins.
Life is too short to postpone your potential interaction with creatures that show us how to live...just by virtue of being what they are. What on earth are you waiting for?!
Super school structure in Nepal
I've been focusing my time on the Sizzling School Projects of Nepal. If you follow this blog, you'll see exactly what I'm talking about over the course of the next few years...and beyond. B^)
We had a good look at a 3 year old school that is within an hour's motorcycle ride of Kathmandu. The image you see in this dispatch will be loosely replicated, with local materials, in Sherpa Country...and a remote part of the Gorkha district in Nepal. Our new friend in Nepal, Raj, will be helping us with the latter. He's happy to give back to the community that created him...and we are happy to see the children of the latter benefit from our work. Raj will also be helping us negotiate with the Chinese government for the traverse permission for the 2010 Everest Freestyle Expedition.
You can click below to see a video of part of the school structure we inspected a couple of days ago. I hope it makes you smile as much as I was when I took it. There is nothing more satisfying than to have a positive influence in the life of children in need.
The Hall of Goodness
Dana Engler, a team member of the Secret Spot Seven Summits, has been tearing up the snow in the Canadian Rockies. He's on the verge of taking a break to tell us how the season is in Western Canada. I must admit, I wouldn't mind getting a few turns in this Spring...but that's not going to happen. I won't be back to in North America until early April...and then it will be time to get ready for the 2009 Secret Spot Denali Traverse! B^)
Playmobil Bajee Dawa is pretty excited that he is going to be in Alaska again. So am I. =^)
I'm using the latest in expedition technology
You can stay tuned to this page...or just subscribe to my blog...to learn about some of the expedition technology I am using to beam these dispatches to you. Later this week, I am going to dedicate a dispatch to the cutting edge gear that Eric at the Satellite Phone Store...and Tom at HumanEdgeTech.com...have connected me with. My profuse thanx always go out to them for being such innovators.
Stay tuned...
Until Soon
