Time Machining past Losar with the Emmanator...
27 Feb, 09 - 19:20
I just cruised through Losar...not on the Time Machine...but a mini-Time Machine. My heart is with the BMW...as it rests in the Mongoose's Cave...but my body is currently transported through space and time on a 185cc Yamaha. It's actually been pretty fun. B^)
I've been to Nagarkot, Nuwarkot, Bhaktapur...and Patan at night...B^)
I think it is time to go a little further afield. I'm thinking the birth place of the Buddha. Lumbini. It's only 300 rough and rugged kilometers away. Stay tuned. B^]

When this dispatch gets mirrored in the Secret Spot Seven Summits Blog (phillmichael.com)...it will be February 28th(an auspicious day)?!...and the entry will include a short video from my Nepalese riding. Click on the video below to view! The mini-bike is a great way to efficiently get to remote places that either have or need schools. It's been a fascinating odyssey...B^)
Phill Michael takes the Mini-Time Machine through remote Nepal.
This month's New Moon determined the advent of Losar. For hundreds of years, Tibetans have congregated to celebrate...and for the last few decades, tourists have flowed into Tibet for the festivities. Well...not this year. The Chinese government has closed the borders to foreigners...and military presence is high...on the 50th anniversary of the Dalai Lama's exodus from his homeland.
We made a good choice to switch our filmed Everest Traverse to Spring 2010. It looks like it will be virtually impossible to complete an Everest traverse(from China to Nepal) in 2009. At Secret Spot Seven Summits...we smile at adversity...and rise to the challenge. We will be traversing North America's highest peak...Denali...in about 90 days. We can't wait! You can check it all out at www.secretspotalaska.com
Our Kilimanjaro plans have cemented...and we will be physically greeting 2010 with 50 expedition members from the snows of Kilimanjaro! You can check out www.secretspotafrica.com to learn all about that.
(top)Time Machining through Space and Time...July 2008 (bottom) Raj and Phill work on THE Race at the Kathmandu Guest House
As I gaze into the heavens on another clear night...from the comfort of the Kathmandu Guest House, I can see the waxing crescent moon. It's gentle, protective curve looks like it is ready to accept the advances of any falling star. It's just beautiful!
My mind wanders to some of the safaris we will be doing around the periphery of the Secret Spot Kilimanjaro Expedition. I am especially looking forward to seeing the stars at the place where we will walk amongst the chimps...and go 'Secret Spotlighting'! B^]
Today...February 28th...also happens to be the second birthday of the Emmanator. Since we like to honour our blog subscribers....here's is a special birthday wish! Keep on cruisin' Emmanator! B^]
Even the Emmanator subscribes to the Secret Spot Seven Summits blog! Happy Birthday Emmanator! =^)
I've been crusin' through the plans for a friendly little race in Nepal. Raj and I are going to hash out the plans on the golf course this weekend...and YOU can look forward to hearing (and potentially participating) in the event. I've been recently introduced to some more excellent people in Kathmandu and the Guest House feels like home. A recent house cleaning event reminded me that we reap what we sew. It's good to only include honest, driven. reliable folks in one's circle. Period.
Birds of a Feather...flock together...=^]
Until Soon
