More than One Hundred Years...

I'm back in KTM...B^)
Over the weekend...I delivered hundreds of pencils, erasers, rulers, etc to a remote village in the Gorkha district of Nepal. If you've been following along...you know that was by motorcycle...on incredibly challenging roads.
I was beaming goodness to YOU via a BGAN satellite modem with a wireless network adapter...thanx to Eric at the SatellitePhoneStore.com...so life was...and continues to be...Good. B^]
Beaming the goodness from Anywhere...Anytime! B^)
When Chris mirrors this dispatch in the Secret Spot Seven Summits blog(PhillMichael.com), there will be a video from an average section of the road. That was by no means the worst part of the road...as there were times where stopping would have been baaaaaaaaad. =^o Click below to watch the video!
Phill Michael on the Doubly Dusty Roads of Remote Nepal!
The school supplies were for a woman's education group in that remote Nepalese village. They are learning English by candlelight...after a hard day of physical labour. It's a pretty amazing program. These are the same women who danced and sang for us on the first night of our visit.
I also had a look a school building in progress. It is quite different than what we are planning in Sherpa Country...but interesting nonetheless. We learn from other people's mistakes...ideally. =^]
Giri's school needs a roof before the monsoons! Maybe you can help?!
The people of rural Nepal are so diverse that one could never tire of their good nature and gentle demeanor. We stopped for tea to rest our ragged and dusty carcasses and I sat with a women who was 105 years old on one side of me...and her comely 20 year old grand daughter on the other. I was thinking about how amazing it would be to be able to see what the eyes of the senior lady had seen. Purely amazing.
The woman second from the left is 105 years old!
How would you reflect upon your life if you were more than one hundred years old?!
I better get back on/in the mini-Time Machine...B^)
Until Soon
Phill =^)
