I've been digging through the archives and found some Tanya Stevens in a buried music folder. Those dulcet tones are wafting through the warm Kathmandu air as I mate with my Dell Mini Inspiron.
My sparrow visitor stopped by again. When Chris mirrors this dispatch in the Secret Spot Seven Summits blog (www.phillmichael.com) there will a video of one of these great visitations. I just thought I'd shoot YOU a little bit of sunshine. B^) Click Below to view the video!

With the help of some folks at Medtronic we've been discussing Phuri's imminent open heart surgery. There are a number of options for the repair...and we are weighing it all out. I remember going through this process more than six years ago...so I am happy to give all my support and advice to Dawa's nephew...Phuri the simple monk.
I visited the Shahid Gangalal Nation Heart Center yesterday and we dealt with some logistics and met with a potential surgeon...Dr Robindra Timala. He is a great person and very easy to connect with. The facility is also quite impressive...considering this is the 12th poorest country in the World. Wonderful! =^)
It's a good day at SecretSpot.NET. We just added Sonn Eidem to our roster of Adventurers. You can go to www.secretspot7summits.com or www.secretspoteverest.com to see what I am talking about. Welcome Sonn! =^)
We've added Sonn Eidem to our roster! Check it out at www.secretspot7summits.com
Over on the other side of the Planet, Eric at the SatellitePhoneStore.com has been making things happen with BGAN service in Anchorage, Alaska, USA. The recent launch of their new satellite means that we will have high speed Internet access, via a Hughes 9201, while we are on the Denali Freestyle Expedition! We'll be beaming all sorts of images, musings and videos from the shoulders of Denali...and you can virtually join us by subscribing to the Secret Spot Seven Summits blog. (www.phillmichael.com) . Only the Buddha knows why you haven't subscribed already. =^]
You can check out our 'soon to happen' Denali expedition at www.secretspotalaska.com !
If you are already a blog subscriber...download Skype (www.skype.com) NOW...and prepare to interact with us while we climb to the highest point in North America! B^)
We'll be recording the sessions and posting them in our media. Cool. B^)
You'll also be able to virtually climb Kilimanjaro with us at the end of this year. Eric from the SatellitePhoneStore is going to be there...in person...so we'll likely be doing some very innovative things with this communication and expedition technology from the Roof of Africa. Join us! B^]
We'll also be using some expedition technology that was developed by Tom at HumanEdgeTech.com . Thanx Tom! =^)
Let's get back to the present for a moment...
Phuri's father and mother are in the remote village of Dawa's birth...and is completely out of any kind of communication. I met with Phuri's Aunt yesterday. The last time she talked to Phuri's parents was via my BGAN satellite phone in July 2007. =^o
As you might remember, Dawa and I were about to fly(then walk) to his village. Now we will stay in Kathmandu for a bit and make sure Phuri comes through this serious operation with flying colours...then deliver a positive report to his parents...in person. =^)
Hmmmmm.maybe we should get Phuri's parents to come to Kathmandu for some quality pre-surgery time...
(top) Eric Talman (second from left) and the SPS crew in Anchorage, AK, USA (bottom) SherpaSchool.ORG is rolling along!
The SherpaSchool.ORG continues to roll on. Materials are starting to be collected locally...and we can look forward to mountains of paperwork over the next year or so...followed by perpetual and smaller hills of paperwork and red tape...I am sure. It's worth it considering 30 or so Sherpa kids are going to be on the cutting edge of education technology and communication despite being in one of the most remote settlements on Earth. Watch it all unfold by subscribing to my blog at www.phillmichael.com . I invite you. B^]
Until Soon
