Phuri learns about his imminent aortic valve replaement via Dr. Robindra Tamala
Wednesday night in Kathmandu, Nepal. All I can hear is the hum of the generator at the Kathmandu Guest House. Very lovely for me. =^]
Although, it is a shame that the power is not flowing into the rooms. =^|
Luckily I have the HET Power 50 from HumanEdgeTech.com to keep me powered up! ! Thanx again Tom! B^)
The 2002 Cape Red we just sipped is doing wonders for my intellect...=^|
Dawa and I DID have a lengthy conversation about the importance of taking care of 'family' in there time of need. The importance of teamwork. That was an inspiring and bonding conversation. =^)
You'll notice that the images in our dispatch frame are larger (if you click on them)...as are the images in the blog. We've had numerous requests for larger images...and now we are delivering. Enjoy! =^)
It was a bit of a hectic day today. We got the uniforms organized for Dawa's kiddies...and now Phuri is slated for an aortic valve replacement. The surgeons won't likely cut through his sternum for another two weeks. It has been most excellent to deal with Dr Robindra Tamala. He's a good surgeon and a good man. We are, once again, blessed. =^]
Phuri was speaking English to me today...and Dawa was chuckling. He didn't know that Phuri could speak English. =^o
I've tried very hard to impress upon Phuri that he is about to enter a new and improved stage of his life. I think he finally got it. =^)
'Team Phuri': (from left to right) Ang Dawa Sherpa, Phill Michael, Phuri Sherpa, Phuri Temba Sherpa and Auntie Sherpa
Phuri is very similar to his older brother Gelu. For those of you who have seen Gelu laugh and smile...you know that my day was filled with partial sunshine. B^]
Actually...it was totally sunny in Kathmandu today. Brilliantly so. I felt like I was in the tropics. B^)
Dawa and I hope to fly to Phaplu on Saturday...if the weather allows...and if the rickety Twin Otter is ready. If we get there on schedule, we'll spend about ten days wandering the district...connecting with the locals...and shooting tons of video and stills. The SherpaSchool.ORG rolls forward! =^)
We will also be connecting, live and in person, with Phuri's parents. They will understand there is nothing to worry about (regarding Phuri)...on the first day I am there. =^]
We will return to KTM in time for Phuri's surgery...and I'll be accessible as ever while in the wilderness...thanx to the BGAN...and Eric at the Satellite Phone Store! B^)
For those of you who communicate with me regularly...kindly refrain from sending any attachments with your emails...but do not hesitate to communicate.
I'll be beaming sweet goodness and positivity to ALL via the satellite...especially in the direction of THE little Fishy. =^]
The spectre of North America is looming over me...or is it the comforting aura of an Angel. I prefer to think of it as the latter. =^]
Chris and I will be deep (and in person) within the Secret Spot Video Editing Dungeon in the beginning of May...so you'll soon get to see what all the fuss has been about.
There will, of course, be frequent exits to enjoy the fruits of the California desert...and the fru-its of the Sea. I'll have mine raw please. Raw like Sushi. =^P
I'd also like to have a bit of the In and Out burger action. Mmmmm...burgers. =^P
Are YOU subscribed to the Secret Spot Seven Summits blog (www.phillmichael.com)?! If not...why not?! Do it. =^]
