Dana on Peyto Lake in the Canadian Rockies, Canada

It's spring in the Canadian Rockies and a time of year when most people are anxious for the real end of winter. However there is still some good skiing in out there. I just came back from a couple of days resort skiing with both a good friend Greg and my dear Caroline. We managed to find the soft stuff on different points on the mountain at different times of the day. Somewhat like an Easter Egg hunt!

Dana's Starting Line

Spring is also the time when training for summer activities begins to take on some serious time commitment. Caroline and I have booked ourselves into a running or triathlon event every month from April through to the end of August. We have stocked our selves up with fresh runners and I also purchased a new ride. I just need to get these new wheels on the road. This weekend for sure!

It's also a time to begin planning for summer mountaineering, scramble, and canoe adventures The experiences of last fall's trip on the Secret Spot Tilman Trek and anticipation for pulling together our next adventure in Nepal, up into the rich cultural kingdom of Mustang, is leading us to consider some longer more remote weekend objectives in our own backyard.

We'll see where we end up...
