Pike(t) Pass...13000ft! B^)

(top) Cowshed Re-visited! (bottom) Phuri and Marita work their way up to Piket Pass
I just witnessed the most spell binding lightning storm I have EVER seen. Imagine watching the Gods fight with thunderbolts in the clouds! =^o
The fire is warm in this little tea-house at Pike(t) Pass...and the Dahl Bhat is being produced. What else would there be in Sherpa Country? I am growing to like Dahl Bhat...a great deal. In fact...this vegetarian diet feels A-OK! Surprise...surprise! =^o
We left Urgen's in the late morn and slogged our way up 4000 vertical feet...to 13000ft...through some pristine country. We did re-visit the Cow Shed on the way. You'll learn all about that in a future episode of SecretSpot.TV.

(top) Marita at the new Pike(t) Pass Tea House (bottom) Xangbu and Phill get ready for Dahl Bhat and Chang
The last time I was on this route was late July 2007. This tea-house is new...and some magical pink flowers are blooming like crazy. The flowers are called Rhododendrons.
They are everywhere...and it is absolutely spectacular! B^]
We also played with some Yaks on the way up! They are unpredictable...verging on wild. Beware of the Yak...especially the Shaven Yak. =^]

(top) Frolicking with Yaks (bottom) Beautiful Rhododendron flowers
I'm low on battery power after a very foggy afternoon...but hope to solve that tomorrow. If I can get all charged up, Eric from the SatellitePhoneStore.com and I will try another Skype Video connection.
Time will tell...as it always does. =^]
Rain of shine...tomorrow we head to THE Monastery. I can't wait! B^)
Until Soon
Phill =^)
