My shoes walk this earth, just like yours

Driving through the desert between California and Arizona, I can see more stars than you can imagine. I'm watching lightening frolic freely in the distant clouds. Slowly approaching the storm, it is 100degrees at 1:45 in the morning. I am keeping myself cool and alert by spreading/pouring water on my arms, legs, head, face, check and neck. I am even wiping a little on my eyelids and getting them moist again.Challenging drive with No Air Conditioning :D

This particular road trip was from about 10:45pm(PST) to5:30am(PST). I took a break at 3:00am(PST) to nap on the side of the Highway 10E. At this point I couldn't rearrange my car because I didn't want my bike to get rained on. So I tried the napping in the front seat tilted back. Worked pretty well because of how exhausted I was.

Thunderbird Peak

I rolled into Glendale, where I'm staying, about 5:15am(PST). I watched the sun rise. It was magnificent. A mushy array of vibrancy arose from the east and the never ending rocky peaks of about 1000 feet in height littered the horizon 360 degrees around you. The peaks are spaced out though, about every mile and a half. The clouds like afterthoughts of a cool whip container, stretched out and faded.

The heat here is persistent. It only begins to cool down around midnight and even then it's 90-100 degrees F. Seth explained to me that it remains significantly warmer in the suburbs because the pavement, asphalt in particular, retains SO much heat. However, the heat is totally bearable in my mind. Cycling is preferred form of exercise because you can still feel the wind on your face. Running is a no go because you're suffocating in your own sweat and your inspiration is stifled by the heat, haha.

Seth and Lauren on dishes duty after a great dinner!

I've had a magnificent time here so far. A lot of cooking has taken place. Whether it's the best scrambled eggs you've had in your life, or a 4 course meal for Lauren's birthday, if you're around, you can rest assured there will be tasty goodin's to satisfy your palate. I had the opportunity to do a short hike to the top of an 800 foot peak as seen in the photo. Next time I'm in Arizona, I will show you more of it's natural beauty.

Until the future.
