Where Can You Find Adventure?

I was interviewing Phill Michael the other night about how he discovers his secret spot. This is an expert adventurist who has seen more than I could possibly dream up. I made sure to listen attentively when he gave me this helpful advice for where I could find adventure easily.

1. In Your Mind

Imagine how many games you use to play when you were a kid. If you are like me then most of your playtime was spent playing made-up games invented by you and your friends. Well in our complicated times of power point presentations and dead lines, it is very easy for us to forget that the imagination that created Pirates and Robots when you were a kid is the same imagination just waiting to help you find adventure "Adventure is where you see it", the adventure experts like Phill Michael say. So who empowers you? Where inspires you? What makes you feel invincible? Close your eyes and imagine your perfect secretspot. Always remember that your adventure starts in your mind.

2. Whatever Surrounding You Find Yourself In

At any time and any place, adventure is around you. Open your eyes wide to the possibilities of your surroundings. You don't have to travel 2,000 miles away to find adventure. Always be aware of your surroundings and opportunities and you should never be short of finding good adventures. A good tip for finding good and easy adventure is to make a familiar route to work, or favorite nature trail, etc. more adventurous by choosing a different mode of transportation or route.Bikes are a useful tool for finding adventure and are truly awesome for coasting around. You will be surprised to find just how many things you haven't seen before. Just remember that you can find adventure in any surrounding, it's that easy.

3. Any Place Your Feet Can Take You

When was the last time you thought about trying to find adventure in the cities or towns that are next door to you? Shoot...I've lived in Orange County my whole life and it took me 21 years until I found adventure on the wide roads and lively downtown of Huntington Beach.  Whether your backyard is a giant city, or a forested mountain, there is always a place for finding adventure only footsteps away.

4. In The Wilderness

The 5 star world of resorts and the perfect leisure experience is a great time to be had, but there is something missing. I recently spent a night being engulfed by a blanket of stars in the Arizona Desert. There is no amount of money that can buy beauty like I saw that night. The next time you are trying to find adventure, think of the roar of the Kings River rushing rapidly as you sit beside your own personal eddy. Think about floating on the Amazon river deep into the jungle to find adventure out in the wild. In the wilderness, the possibilities for finding adventure will never end. Life life. Get outside.

5. With Family

When you are around the ones you trust and love, adventure is never too far ahead, and it definitely isn't far behind. You will never be short of good times and the inspiration to travel and find adventure when you are surrounded by family. Finding adventure with family creates the bonds that the greatest adventures are all about.
