1. South America

You would need two lives to milk out all of the adventure you will find on the continent of South America. I mean you can cycle down a volcano in Ecuador, or charter a boat to check out the Galapagos Islands to see the unique wildlife in unspoiled beauty. Think about riding the Amazon river deep into the jungle to go for hikes and do some piranha fishing with the local guides. Lets not forget that South America has such infamous spots like the Inca Ruins and Machu Picchu where you will get a taste of the fascinating Inca Civilization.Patagonia is the hiking capital of the world and world renowned climber Yvon Chouinard loves this area so much he named his company in honor of the beauty of Patagonia. This is just the tip of what there is to find in the great country of South America. So next time you are planning to find adventure, this is the place to start!

2. The Baja Peninsula

The first mention of California was from Spanish author Garci Rodríguez de Montalvo in is book Las Sergas de Esplandian. He talks about the "Island of California" as being the closest place to an earthly paradise. The "Island of California" is now know as the Baja Peninsula. The Baja Peninsula is a prime place to find adventure easily for surfers, hikers, kayakers, fisherman, and anthropologist. Whether you are off-roading to find the next uncrowded point-break to surf, or you are taking a mule ride through a Grand Canyon-like setting looking at primitive artwork by nomadic tribes on canyon walls, you will find adventure easily on the beautiful and mysterious Baja Peninsula.

3. In Forest And Mountains

As you venture into the mountains finding adventure, the air will be crisper, the colors will be sharper, and the trees will be taller. When I traveled only 300 miles from my home to the forests of Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks, I discovered the true beauty of old growth forests. Driving through the windy roads dwarfed by 200 foot tall pines, you can catch a glimpse of the vast beauty that expands beyond the whiz of trees blurring past you. At 7,000 feet, watching a sunset is like eating a sky full of rainbow sherbet. Experiencing breathtaking moments in nature are normal occurrences to any climber/hike, however in today's world many may forget the peace and serenity that can be found deep in the forest and mountains. Remember the next time you are trying to find adventure easily, just take a hike through a local forest. If you are lucky enough to live close to a mountain, then go climb it! Remember this...and you won't ever be short of an adventure. Hey, maybe one day you will find yourself at the top of Mount Everest!

4. In The Ocean

The ocean makes up 71% of planet earth and provides 99% of its living space. This is the largest area in our entire universe in which we know there are living organisms. With that perspective, you can understand how the ocean is the easiest place to find adventure. I am talking about the longest continuing mountain chain known to exist in our universe, coral reef systems that can be seen from the moon, and the Challenger Deep which is deeper than Mount Everest is tall!  Exploring the ocean is exploring a new world. The next time you are planning on taking a travel adventure, try planning it around this massive body of water we call the ocean. Plus you never know, with all the unexplored territory of the ocean you may end up pioneering a totally new spot! Now that is what I would call finding adventure!

Space...the final frontier

5. In Space

I understand that most people cannot just call up NASA and reserve their next trip up into outer space. To many of us space exploration is still merely science fiction. However this does not mean that you should rule out space exploration as a means to finding adventure.Virgin Galactic has made it their mission to take paying customers up into space as early as 2011. Granted these customers are paying around $200,000 for a space adventure, but we can hope that consumer-based space exploration is right around the corner. Everything is possible in the future and maybe in 10 years Virgin will introduce their economy seats for space adventures. I don't know about all of you, but I have already started saving my money!

Until the future.
