Dear Phill,
My name is Rob Hoogervorst I am a 49 year old man from Holland. I am married and have 3 children and i am a professional soldier (nursing corps) and 11 days ago I had an Medtronic freestyle AV implanted. I have found your story on the medtronic site and it has inspired me, amongst other things, to make the choice for this type of valve. Except from a mild tachycardia (95), i am doing fine and it feels good to see how someone like you has picked up his life after being operated so young in his life. I,am wondering if you still experience no limitations and if you are not afraid for that time that the surgery has to be done again? I know i still have a lot of years to go before reaching that stage but it is something i did think about. At the moment i cannot see myself walking up a big hill although the nurses at the hospital were amazed that i was up and walking 26 hours after surgery. The next couple of weeks i will start exercising and the aim is to walk 10 kilometers in 90 minutes within 6 weeks. I am very curious if this goal is not to high but i always think about the text in the Medtronic add where you were snowboarding after 5 weeks (it is summer in Holland, and i do not know how to snowboard....)
I will keep viewing your website and wish you all the best.
Kind regards,
Rob Hoogervorst
